Westports Malaysia celebrates the arrival of 3 latest Super Post Panamax Quay Crane
Westports Malaysia has just taken delivery of three new Super Post Panamax Quay Crane capable of handling large vessels, from Mitsui E&S Machinery Co, Ltd, Japan. This is the first batch of a total of six cranes with the remaining 3 scheduled for delivery by mid of December 2022, which aims to improve the efficiency in the terminal and optimize our ability to service our customers.
The cranes have a lifting capacity of 55 tons twin-lift, 38-meter lifting above seaside, weigh 1,100 tons, and are capable of handling containers over 21 rows (59.1 meters outreach).
The offloading of the quay crane will require 8 days of installation work and is expected to be fully operational by mid of November 2022.
